Cep Sudoku needs no account. Your games, streak and settings stay on your phone. Data leaves your phone only when an ad is shown, when you buy something, or when you turn on an optional feature.
1. Who we are
Appn Yazılım ve Danışmanlık Ltd. Şti.
Adalet Mah. Manas Blv. No: 39 İç Kapı No: 3201, Folkart Towers B, Bayraklı / İzmir, Türkiye
Email: cepsudoku@appn.app
We are the data controller for the Cep Sudoku mobile app (iOS and Android). This policy explains the personal data processed when you use it, under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, for users in the European Economic Area and the UK, the GDPR.
2. What stays on your phone
Your games and unfinished puzzles, solve times and mistakes, daily streak, stats, learned techniques and settings are stored only on your phone. They are not sent to us.
- Your phone’s own backup: If backup is on, this data is also included in your iCloud (Apple) or Google account backup. Apple and Google keep that backup under their own terms; we can’t see it.
- Daily reminder: If you turn it on, the notification at the time you pick is scheduled on your phone. No data is sent for it.
- Widgets: Home and lock screen widgets read the same data from inside your phone.
3. Ads (free version)
The free version shows a full-screen ad after a game ends and a small banner at the bottom of the Today page. After three mistakes you can choose to watch an ad for one more mistake; otherwise no ad shows during play. Ads are provided by Unity Ads and ironSource Ads through Unity LevelPlay (Unity Technologies and ironSource).
Before the first ad you choose on the “About ads” sheet: By my interests or General ads. No request is sent to the ad network before you choose.
- Interest-based ads are shown only with your consent. On iPhone you also need to allow tracking in iOS’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you don’t, ads are general.
- General ads are not picked by your interests. The technical data below is still processed to deliver and measure ads, cap how often they show, and prevent fraud.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID (on iPhone the IDFA only with your permission; on Android the Google advertising ID), an app-specific device ID | Showing and measuring ads, not showing the same ad too often; with your consent, picking ads by your interests |
| IP address and the approximate location it implies (country, city) | Ads suited to your region, fraud prevention |
| Device model, operating system, language, app version, connection type | Making the ad work on your device |
| Ad interactions (views, taps, closes) | Measurement and reporting |
You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad preferences. On iPhone you can change tracking in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Google settings. If you buy the ad-free version, ads go away completely and the ad network is never started.
See the Unity privacy policy for how Unity processes data.
4. Purchases: the ad-free version
Payment is taken by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). We never see your card details. RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) is used to verify purchases and for “Restore purchases”. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID made by the app, purchase and transaction details (product, date, store transaction ID), country, platform and app version. Your name and email are not sent to RevenueCat.
5. Account (optional): Moving to another phone
No account is needed. If you want to move your progress between iPhone and Android, you can connect an Apple or Google account in Settings › Backup › Moving to another phone. This uses Firebase (Google):
- Firebase Authentication: your account ID and which account you signed in with (Apple or Google). We don’t ask Apple for your name or email. With Google sign-in, Firebase records your Google account’s email address.
- Cloud Firestore (servers in Europe): the puzzles you solved (date, level, time, number of mistakes and hints) and your learned techniques.
You can delete your account at any time in the same place with Delete account. The cloud copy is deleted with it; the data on your phone stays.
6. Notifications
- The daily reminder is scheduled on your phone and sends no data (see section 2).
- News and offers is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings › Notifications, you get an occasional notification about new features and offers. For this, Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) gives your phone a notification ID, and your phone joins a notification group for the app’s language (Turkish or English). We don’t tailor notifications to individuals. When you turn the setting off, the notification ID is deleted.
7. When you write to us
If you send us an email with “Write to us” or “Report a bug”, we use your email address and message only to reply and fix the problem. A bug report adds the app version and operating system version; you can see and remove them before sending.
8. What we don’t use
Cep Sudoku has no separate analytics or crash reporting tool. It doesn’t ask for location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone access. We don’t sell your personal data.
9. Legal bases
| Processing | Legal basis (KVKK Art. 5–6; GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Interest-based ads, advertising ID | Consent |
| Delivering and measuring general ads, fraud prevention | Legitimate interest (offering the free version with ads) |
| Purchases and restoring them | Performance of a contract |
| Optional account and cloud copy | Performance of a contract (a service you asked for) |
| News and offers notifications | Consent |
| Support emails | Legitimate interest; performance of a contract |
| Keeping sales records | Legal obligation |
You can withdraw consent at any time: for ads in Settings › Ad preferences, for notifications in Settings › Notifications.
10. Recipients and transfers abroad
Your data is shared only for the purposes above with these service providers: Unity Technologies and ironSource (ads), RevenueCat (purchases), Google (Firebase; account and notifications), and Apple and Google (stores, sign-in and phone backup). Their servers may be in the USA and other countries. Account data is kept on Firestore servers in Europe; sign-in and notification services use Google’s worldwide infrastructure. Transfers abroad follow Article 9 of the KVKK and the GDPR, with safeguards such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses or, where required, your consent.
11. How long we keep data
- Data on your phone: until you delete the app.
- Account and cloud copy: until you delete your account.
- Purchase records: as long as needed to restore your purchase, and for legal retention periods.
- Notification ID: until you turn off News and offers or delete the app.
- Support emails: up to two years after your request is resolved.
- Data held by the ad networks: for Unity’s own retention periods.
12. Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK and the GDPR you have the right to learn whether your data is processed, to request information, correction or deletion, to learn who it was shared with, to object to processing, to data portability, and to claim compensation if you were harmed. Send your request to cepsudoku@appn.app or in writing to the address above. We reply free of charge within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Board or, in the EEA or UK, to your local data protection authority.
You can delete your account data yourself in the app (see section 5), and remove the data on your phone by deleting the app.
13. Children
Cep Sudoku is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we’ll delete it.
14. Changes
If we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with its effective date. For a significant change we also let you know in the app.
